Transgender IPL & Electrolysis Hair Removal

For most, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) will decrease new hair growth, but doesn’t always dramatically reduce the presence of facial, body and chest hair. Androgen-driven hair, especially facial hair, is an almost universal problem for transgender women and and getting rid of it can be considered a priority for some.

Treatment Options.

IPL (Intense Pulse Light) is an ideal treatment for most areas of the body and face and can be used on legs, arms, chest and back. We are also able to work on facial hair and this may be you first choice of treatment in order to build your confidence. IPL works best on dark hair and fair skin. Electrolysis is the only permanent method of hair removal however as we work on each individual hair, it is a time honoured treatment that is more suitable for smaller areas such as lip, chin and beard. What to expect…

During your first visit to Oasis we will complete a thorough consultation where we can assess your concerns and advise on your treatment plan. We can make sure you are suitable for treatment and you can ask any questions that you may have. We want you to be comfortable with your treatment decisions.

For IPL a patch test will be required at least 48hours prior to treatment. Your treatments will then continue on a regular basis between 4 to 6 weeks depending on the area treated with an assessment made on each visit as we check on your progress.

Electrolysis frequency will be more regular due to the smaller areas treated at each visit, however this will be discussed in more detail.
