For most, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) will decrease new hair growth, but doesn’t always dramatically reduce the presence of facial, body and chest hair. Androgen-driven hair, especially facial hair, is an almost universal problem for transgender women and getting rid of it can be considered a priority. Electrolysis is an ideal solution.

Do you recommend a course of treatments?

We offer course options for all our Electrolysis treatment which are highly recommended to achieve the best results. All of which will be explained during your consultation or alternatively you can contact our team to discuss the best treatment and plan for you.

Does it hurt?

The sensation of Electrolysis can differ for each individual. We offer a taster treatment with our consultation where you can experience yourself. The treatment is relatively painless.

What are the benefits?

With Electrolysis you can expect to rid yourself of unwanted hair permanently with lasting results. It is a time-honoured treatment with a number of treatments expected depending on your individual needs. This can all be explained in more detail during your consultation.

How do I prepare for my treatment?

Do make sure you are not using any active skincare products and that your hair growth is minimal so that your Electrologist is able to take hold of the hair for its removal.

Your skin immediately after treatment will be particularly sensitive to UV light and any heat so this needs to be avoided for at least 48 hours. Further aftercare will be explained post treatment and during consultation.

Do not use any method of hair removal 30 days prior to treatment.

We will of course provide you with a comprehensive information prior to your treatment that will explain all you need to know. Your consultation appointment will include all relevant treatment details however whilst having electrolysis you must not remove your hair by the root i.e.. Tweezering, waxing, IPL. You are able to shave or cut but require some length on treatment day for your electrologist to treat.
